A Ghost of a Chance By: His strange affect and nighttime wanderings make Carter suspicious. Cards on the Table tahle perfectly perfect. This would have hte all the better had it been a full-length novel. I found mystery as well as a romance part very entertaining. And the intimate scenes were hot and satisfying.

So if any of these sound enticing, Lanyon at her best could be your crack.
In addition to delighting in some very colorful secondary characters, I loved both main characters. Three years ago, a scandal cost antiquarian “book hunter” James Winter everything that mattered to him: The review must be at least 50 characters long.
This story ranks way high up there with joosh wonderful Adrien English mysteries and with “Mexican Heat” in terms of how close i felt to om main characters and what they go through emotionally. I have a huge affinity for anything and everything that relates to the Golden Age of Hollywood. What made the experience of listening to Cards on the Table josu most enjoyable? I don’t know, maybe I wanted a bit more here —I’m spoiled with great Josh Lanyon stories— and this felt okay but no more.
Brett’s convinced his partner-in-crime sister is behind the theft – a theft that’s liable to bring more scandal to their eccentric family, and cost Brett his marriage to society heiress Juliet Lennox.

It certainly had the foundation for “more”. There have been a few maybe only 2 out of the 24 I currently own that I enjoyed but didn’t fall in love with.
This particular instance has endearing characters, young and old, main and secondary. Still grieving over the sudden death of his lover, antiques dealer Flynn Ambrose moves to the old, ramshackle house on Pitch Pine Lane to catalog and sell the large inventory of arcane and oddball items that once filled his late uncle’s mysterious museum.

Another 4 star A stylish tale of a reporter investigating a year-old Hollywood mystery. I really enjoyed this book and even the mystery part about it had a different quality or feel to it.
However, to me, somehow, it doesn’t feel like a formula, more like ever so slightly differently nuanced elaborations on recurring themes that just hit home for me. A nice tight little mystery about a year old Hollywood cold case.
The mystery itself was more of a three star but the parts between Jack and Tim made me bump it up. It is subtle contrivances like these that separate the master mystery writer from the pack; this, and a list of eccentric suspects, mob connections, assorted dangers, and a cute cop with dimples thrown into the mix.
This is an unconventional love story and a truly entertaining murder mystery – written unconventionally well. Amazon Advertising Find, attract, and engage customers.
