Like a self help book written for middle schoolers, and badly written at that. Because, no matter how inspiring the stories are, buccay is a slight chance of you actually remembering all of them and putting them into actions. There are a lot of great stories inside, there are some mediocre ones, but all things considered, a great book that’s easy to read.

While following Demian’s story of personal development and self-discovery I almost felt as if Jorge was also my therapist. The stories are brilliantly told, and what makes them even better is Jorge carefully choosing them and adressing them to each of Demian’s hardships.
He divides his attention between attending therapeutic teaching conferences, which have taken him around the world, and the writing of his books, which he considers therapeutic tools.

I loved how the book turns into a self-help guide as you read story after story and begin to find yourself in Demian’s problems and start to implement Jorge’s pieces of advice into solving your own daily struggles.

Touching, thought-provoking and heartwarming: It’s a book I recommend to everyone because I think we all need from time to time to reflect on ourselves, finding out what are our limits and our deficiencies and above all, to be aware bucxy our emotions and become better persons.
If I ever need therapy for some kind of reason, Jorge Bucay is the man where I would go to, even without being diagnosed to need treatment. Want to Read saving…. Lists with This Book.

But it touches upon so many things only briefly. Does anyone know how good the german translation is compared to the original text? Refresh and try again. Zum verschenken definitiv nie ein Fehlgriff. Jorge and the stories on the other hand were very lovely and touching, many of the topics had me thinking for days even after finishing the book and I hope that I’m able to remember them just as w I’d actually give it a 3,5 star rating, but since that’s not possible on here, it rounds up to 4.
They only work from a high altitude. Composed of short description of personal details of imaginary patient followed by a short story told by a psychotherapist that is ought to help client find an answer.
My all time favorite book, after Crime and Punishment from Dostoyevsky.
